In PLN3 “Is Google Making us Stupid” by Nicholas Carr, he talks about how he can get information without trying just by clicking a link. I do not think Google is making us stupid, it can just help gain information easier and more convenient. If we want to, anyone can pick up a book and read it for information, but the internet is just so much easier. If anything, it is making us smarter and giving us more resources. It also saves us time and effort for looking up information. Although not all information on the internet is accurate, a lot of it is. Sometimes it takes a couple tries to find the right information. Sometimes it is available from one search. In education, you really need to know if your source is reliable. Since anyone can write anything and post it on the internet, you should always double check information for accuracy. Finally, I do not think Google is making us stupid it is just making information easier for us to find as long as we don’t believe everything we read. Do you trust everything you read or do you double check? Do you just want to use technology for fun or do you want to gain information out of it?
